Todd Woodbridge, former Australian tennis player, and current commentator, believes that Holger Rune is poised to shake up the tennis world and become part of the new “Big Three.” Woodbridge also praised Rune’s flashy playing style, saying that it has the potential to capture the attention of fans and make him a household name.

Holger Rune should be added to this list. It’s like he’s saying: ‘hold on just a minute, I am in this equation, and you need to start talking about me’,” Woodbridge told Australian Open Website. ” I see him as the game’s new antagonist; I think he’s bringing really big energy to matches that are providing another story within tournaments. He’s an in-your-face player who is working his tail off.”

While Woodbridge acknowledges that Rune is still a relatively unknown player, he believes that he has the talent and drive to succeed at the highest level. He also noted that the ATP Tour is currently undergoing a transition period, with the Big Three approaching the end of their careers and a new generation of players looking to make their mark. If Rune does indeed become part of the new Big Three, it would be a major shift in the tennis landscape.

“Currently I don’t see weaknesses; I only see opportunities to continue to make that better. What I love about him is that he’s not scared to win; he’s right in there and wants those victories.  I’ve watched a lot of his practice clips and how he’s working on the power and movement. It’s really solid,” Woodbridge added.

Djokovic, Nadal, and Federer have dominated the sport for over a decade, winning a combined 64 Grand Slam titles. It remains to be seen whether Rune will live up to the hype and become one of the sport’s top players. However, with the backing of Woodbridge and other tennis experts, he certainly has the potential to do so. Tennis fans will be watching closely as he continues to develop his game and rise through the ranks of the ATP Tour.

Holger Rune, the Danish tennis player, has expressed his surprise at being compared to tennis’ “Big Three,” Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic. In a recent interview, Rune admitted that he was taken aback by the comparisons. Despite his success, Rune never expected to be compared to players of the caliber of Big 3.

“I feel a little impression when I read it. It’s probably a good thing I don’t make those comparisons myself. It’s better to stay grounded. It looks fantastic when they put it on, but I’ve only been on the tour for two years, so I still haven’t achieved a fraction of what those legends have achieved,” Rune told SpilXperten.

While Rune may not yet be at the level of Nadal, Federer, and Djokovic, many in the tennis world see him as a player with a bright future. His aggressive playing style and powerful shots have drawn comparisons to a young Nadal, and his recent success has put him on the radar of many tennis fans and experts.
