In a shocking turn of events, Toni Nadal, the uncle and former coach of Rafael Nadal, has launched another attack against Novak Djokovic, the world’s number one tennis player. Nadal’s comments, which are based on a series of unscientific claims and conspiracy theories, have drawn widespread condemnation from the tennis community.
In an interview with the digital newspaper EL ESPAÑOL (as reported by euskalnews.com), Toni said “Having done what Djokovic did with the vaccines, the deaths could be 10 times more”. These comments have been met with disbelief and anger, as they are not based on any scientific evidence and could potentially cause harm by spreading misinformation.
Toni Nadal’s comments seem to stem from a deep-seated rivalry with Djokovic, who has been a fierce competitor of Rafael Nadal on the court. It is clear that Nadal’s animosity towards Djokovic is clouding his judgment and causing him to make irresponsible and baseless claims.
The tennis community has expressed disappointment and frustration at Nadal’s continued attacks against Djokovic. Many have called on him to retract his statements and apologize for spreading false information. Djokovic himself has not responded directly to Nadal’s comments but has previously spoken out in favor of vaccination and following scientific guidelines during the pandemic.

Casper Ruud shares Toni Nadal’s insights on modern tennis
During a recent episode of Eurosport’s Ruud Talk podcast, Casper Ruud revealed that Toni Nadal once shared with him his opinion that the younger generation of players currently in the tennis circuit play at a much faster pace than young Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic did in their early days.
Ruud cited Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, two of the top young players, as examples of players who play at an “incredible pace.” Ruud also commented on how the game has evolved over the past two decades, with players now having bigger games and a more aggressive playing style being a common sight.
Casper Ruud has shared a story about Toni Nadal telling him that younger players today play at a faster pace than Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic did when they were younger. During an episode of the Eurosport podcast Ruud Talk, Ruud revealed that Nadal timed him hitting balls with a junior player during his first practice at the Mallorca Academy.
Nadal remarked that the younger generation plays at a much quicker pace than their predecessors. Ruud went on to explain that players today have bigger games and are more aggressive than before, partly due to the influence of Nadal and Djokovic’s play styles.
