As the Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic era draws to an end, tennis sensations Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have taken the bold step of filling their positions. However, Rafa’s Uncle Toni Nadal believes that Alcaraz is better than Sinner, despite just the beginning of their rivalry.

Alcaraz had won two Grand Slam titles before Sinner won his first at the 2024 Australian Open. However, Alcaraz has struggled this season, a contrasting outcome for Jannik Sinner, who has lost only once this year.

However, interestingly enough, Sinner’s only loss of the season was delivered by Alcaraz at Indian Wells, which he later went on to defend.

Despite contrasting ordeals that have seen the Italian win three titles and Alcaraz win one, Toni Nadal has a personal opinion about the duo. In an interview with Cadenaser, the director of Rafael Nadal’s Academy revealed that Alcaraz is a little better than Sinner. And even had an interesting take on their up-and-rising rivalry.

Clearly has come to the relief, because the two are demonstrating that they will be difficult to beat for their rivals. But, Alcaraz still seems a little better than Sinner. However, Sinner does not fail, and today is the maximum favorite to reach number one. They will have a very good rivalry in the coming years for tennis, for Spain and for sport in general.

Sinner and Alcaraz will head into the clay season with high hopes of winning the Monte Carlo Masters. Notably, Alcaraz’s strength has been in clay, and he will be aiming to maximize the benefits the surface brings.

We’re surrounded by great athletes in Spain in every field. Three or four years ago I wouldn’t have expected to get this award. I’m very proud of it, it’s really amazing.
