World No. 7 Casper Ruud had an off start to the year with not being able to play at the Australian Open due to an injury but he came back in sheer fashion to clinch the Argentina Open. He couldn’t go past the third round at Indian Wells, but made it to the finals at the Miami Open losing to Carlos Alcaraz. He progressed with every game and finally made it to his first Grand Slam final at the French Open where he lost to Rafael Nadal in straight sets. He won another title in the clay season at the Swiss Open and also reached the semifinals of the Canadian Open losing to Hobert Hurkacz and the lost to Ben Shelton in the second round of the Cincinnati Masters. He failed to go past the third round at the US Open in his playing career and looks to set a new feat at this’s year tournament.

On the other hand, Kyle Edmund failed to play a single game in the previous year due to injury but he came back to play this year’s Wimbledon playing the mixed doubles event alongside Olivia Nicholls but crashed out in the very first round. He then made it to the second round in a Challenger event and his first major return was at the Citi Open losing to Dan Evans in the second round.
