First Quarter

Iga Swiatek
Iga Swiatek

Top seed Iga Swiatek will start against Jasmine Paolini and could meet former US Open champ Sloane Stephens in the second round as she starts against Greet Minnen. 28th seed Ekaterina Alexandrova takes on wildcard entrant Peyton Stearns while local girl and 24th seed Amanda Anisimova locks horns with Yulia Putintseva in a fiery first round clash. Amanda could take on compatriot Sofia Kenin in round 2 but chances are low as Kenin starts with a tricky clash against Jule Niemier.

9th seed Garbine Muguruza starts against young sensation Clara Tauson. Bernarda Pera and Anhelina Kalinina lock horns in round 1 with the winner most likely to take on 21st seeded in-form Petra Kvitova who takes on a qualifier to start with. 32nd seed Elise Mertens takes on Irina Camelia Begu while 8th seeded and home favourite Jessica Pegula awaits a qualifier to kickstart her campaign and is likely to take on Aliaksandra Sasnovich who also starts against a yet-to-be-confirmed qualifier.

1st Quarterfinal Prediction: Iga Swiatek vs Jessica Pegula

Second Quarter

Aryna Sabalenka

4th seeded Paula Badosa takes on Lesia Tsurenko to start her campaign and could meet Petra Martic who has Varvara Gracheva as her round 1 opponent. 26th seed Victoria Azarenka will take on a qualifier to start with and is likely to meet Marta Kostyuk in the second round bringing some heat on the court. 22nd-seeded Karolina Pliskova can easily overcome Magda Linette in round 1 with Marie Bouzkova her possible 2nd round opponent. 13th-seeded Belinda Bencic will take on Andrea Petkovic in her bid for her maiden major.

Defending champion and 11th seeded Emma Raducanu takes on veteran Alize Cornet in an exciting round 1 clash. 2-time US Open champ Naomi Osaka takes on local girl and 19th seeded Danielle Collins in another spicy round 1 encounter in the draw. Reigning Wimbledon champ and 25th seeded Elena Rybakina awaits a qualifier and could well take on the legendary Venus Williams who accepts a wildcard and starts her campaign against Alison Van Uytvanck. 6th seeded Aryna Sabalenka will take on a qualifier and could well meet Kaia Kanepi in 2nd round.

2nd Quarterfinal Prediction: Aryna Sabalenka vs Elena Rybakina

Bottom Half

Third Quarter

Simona Halep
Simona Halep

Simona Halep gets the 7th seed and awaits a qualifier and has a rather easy route till the quarter-finals with only threat being 30th seeded Jil Teichmann in what has been a rather dull quarter. 12th seeded Coco Gauff is another title favourite and awaits a qualifier with a second round clash against Daria Saville quite possible for the teen. Camila Giorgi and Anna Bondar clash in the first round and the winner will most likely take on 20th seeded Madison Keys who starts against Dayana Yastremska.

15th seeded in-form Beatriz Haddad Maia starts against Ana Konjuh while Wimbledon’s sensation Harmony Tan, accepting a wildcard, takes on 2019 US Open champ Bianca Andreescu in the first round setting a mouth-watering 2nd round clash as well. 17th seeded Caroline Garcia will look to continue her fine form of Cincinnati against the qualifier to start her campaign. 3rd seeed Maria Sakkari also gets an easy route till the 4th round with only the 29th seeded Alison Riske being a known obstacle for the Greek.

Third Quarterfinal Prediction: Simona Halep vs Caroline Garcia

Fourth Quarter

Ajla Tomljanovic

5th seed Ons Jabeur starts her campaign against Madison Brengle and is a heavy favourite to reach the quarter-finals in what looks like the easiest quarter of the draw. Joining her are 31st seeded Shelby Rogers, 18th seeded Veronika Kudermetova and 10th seeded Daria Kasatkina, the only possible threat to Jabeur’s chances of making it to the last-8.

14th seeded and last year’s runner-up Leylah Fernandez locks horns with Oceane Dodin in the first round and is likely to take on Liudmila Samsonova in the second round with a good clash with 23rd seeded Barbara Krejcikova highly possible. 3 qualifiers will be drafted in this part of the draw. 2nd seeded Anett Kontaveit starts against Jaqueline Cristian and is the favourite to meet Serena Williams who takes on Danka Kovinic in the first round in her final US Open. Ajla Tomljanovic also features in the quarter with a first round clash against Karolina Muchova.

Fourth Quarter Prediction: Ons Jabeur vs Ajla Tomljanovic

Quarterfinals

Ons Jabeur | Tennis News | FirstSportz
Ons Jabeur

Swiatek will look for her third consecutive win against Pegula in what can be their 4th meeting and second in majors. While Swiatek’s form has been inconsistent, Pegula can certainly eye her 2nd win over the current World No. 1. Rybakina’s aces could be the biggest problem for Sabalenka as the Kazakh will look for her 2nd major of the season and could be a big hurdle for the Belarusian to overcome.

Halep and Garcia have both been in good form and could well likely meet for the first time in their careers on the biggest stage of the season where the Frenchwoman looks better suited to make the semis at the expense of the Romanian. In the match between Ons and Ajla, it could be another win for the Tunisian who leads 2-0 against the Australian and will look to extend her lead.

First Semifinal: Jessica Pegula vs Elena Rybakina

Second Semifinal: Ons Jabeur vs Caroline Garcia

Semifinals

Jessica Pegula
Jessica Pegula

Pegula and Rybakina have met just once, earlier this season when the American won in straight-sets during their clash in Miami. Rybakina’s game is certainly at par with the American but with the crowd backing Pegula, the American will certainly be the favourite to reach her maiden singles major finals. Both the meetings between Jabeur and Garcia so far have been won by the Tunisian but things could well change this time as Garcia has been much better form than Ons.

Finals: Jessica Pegula vs Caroline Garcia

Final

Caroline Garcia
Caroline Garcia

With the head-to-head tied at 2-2 between Pegula and Garcia, the two women will have all to play in the finals of the major as it presents them the chance for a maiden taste of a Grand Slam title. Garcia has been the best player on Tour in the past two months and it will certainly play a massive role when she takes on Pegula who has been slightly inconsistent as compared to the Frenchwoman who remains the favourite to take the title home.
