Seeded 26th Elina Svitolina will be up against Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in a second-round clash at the 2023 US Open.
The Ukrainian has been performing quite well since returning to the court way back in April and also impressed fans during her first-round win against Anna-Lena Friedsam. Meanwhile, Pavlyuchenkova progressed to the second round on the back of a straight-sets win over Fiona Crawley in the first round.

World No. 26 Elina Svitolina has been on blistering form this year since her return to the tennis court after a year-long gap due to her maternal duties. When it comes to playing on the big stages, she brings out the best in herself. In the past two Slams she has played in, she has made it to the quarterfinals of Roland Garros and a semi-final finish at the Wimbledon Championships.
She also lifted the Internationaux de Strasbourg held in France, and ahead of the ongoing US Open, she gained a lot of confidence by making a quarterfinal finish at the recently played Citi Open. At the ongoing US Open, Svitolina beat Anna-Lena Friedsam in straight sets, winning by a score of 6-3, 6-1, in the first round.
