Former world No.1, Carlos Alcaraz has once again become the talk of the tennis world with his incredible winner in the Rio Open. It was the semi-final clash between Alcaraz and Nicolás Jarry when the Spaniard stunned the world with his out-of-the-box winner. Alcaraz won the match and reached his second finals in two weeks since his return from the injury.

It was a close contest between Alcaraz and Jarry as the 19-year-old held his nerve and won the match in three sets, 6-7(2-7), 7-5, 6-0. Alcaraz has a history of producing stunning winners and making impossible comebacks. During the third set of the match, Alcaraz produced one such winner that stunned everyone. Last year, Carlos Alcaraz didn’t simply climb the tennis mountain; he sprinted to the summit with an impressive array of shots and passion. Alcaraz’s remarkable breadth of skills is even more impressive given his youth. He combines power, precision, artistry, and determination in his groundstrokes and volleys.

Alcaraz’s fearlessness and focus, combined with his exceptional talent, raise the bar in every aspect of the game, providing a glimpse of what championship tennis could be like after the Big Three era. Despite a valiant effort from Jarry, who delivered some big serves, crisp forehands, and a series of beautifully executed angled crosscourt forehand volleys that ended numerous rallies, he was unable to prevent the Spaniard from advancing to yet another final.

Carlos Alcaraz eyes on the second title of the season at Rio

In the final of the Rio Open, the top two seeds, Carlos Alcaraz and Cameron Norrie will face off in a highly anticipated rematch of last week’s Argentina Open title match. Both players had to fight hard to secure their places in the final.

Although Norrie managed to beat Alcaraz once before in last year’s Cincinnati quarterfinals, Alcaraz currently holds a dominant 4-1 head-to-head record, including a straight-set victory over Norrie in last week’s Argentina Open final in Buenos Aires.

It will be a close contest as fans assume because everyone is expecting Norrie to give a tough fight in order to win his first title. On the other hand, Alcaraz lost his top rank to Novak Djokovic when he missed the Australian Open. However, if he wins the title in Rio, he will gain 500 points to level Djokovic. Nevertheless, he remains at No.2 in the ATP rankings as per the rules.
