Fabio Fognini and Aljaz Bedene
Fabio Fognini of Italy defeats Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia in the Round of 32 of the Hamburg Open in three sets 6-3,3-6,7-6(5) in two and a half hours of play. He is set to next face Karen Khachanov of Russia in the Round of 16. It was a very tense match as both players played fantastically. Fognini hasn’t won in an ATP tournament after the 2022 French Open. The match ended with both the players getting into a heated argument over a point in the third tie-breaker set.
Fognini hasn’t had a great start to this year as he faced an early-round exit at all the three major Grand Slams of the year. He has achieved most of his success at the clay-court tournaments out of which he has won eight of his nine ATP singles titles. His quest to achieve a singles Grand Slam in his career is still on but he has won the Australian Open 2015 in the doubles category with his doubles partner Simone Bolelli.

Twitter reacts to the verbal spat between Fabio Fognini and Aljaz Bedene
Fogini and Bedene got into a verbal argument while the former was leading towards his bench after the match ended. Bedene argued with Fognini about a ball called in which was actually out during the third set which was the tie-breaker set. Both the players confronted each other and went to see the sign of the ball played almost half an hour ago.
After the discussion, Fognini was annoyed and stopped responding to him. The chair umpire tried to intervene to calm both the players but it went in vain. Bedene kept accusing the Italian and tried distracting him by saying “every time you play you do something” but he did not fall into the trap. Twitter reacts after both the players got into an argument and accused the Slovenian and Italian of losing their calmness and not displaying sportsmanship.
