At one point in time, England were trailing 25-6. It took some comeback from the hosts to pull off an epic draw against New Zealand. Emma Raducanu is an avid follower of various sports, with Football and Formula One to name a few. She has probably added another sport to her list, after watching her first ever live Rugby fixture.

Speaking about her on-court performances in 2022, the US Open 2021 champion has not quite had the year that she had hoped for. The Briton failed to make an impact on the big stages, and even dropped out of the top 50 WTA Rankings.

The benchmark set for Emma Raducanu this year was quite high after a breakthrough 2021 season. She last competed at the Ostrava Open, where she was outclassed in the first round by Daria Kasatkina in straight sets.

In fact, Emma Raducanu failed to win a single title in 2022, with her best result coming at the Korea Open, where she was defeated in the semifinals. The 20-year-old has not been able to work with a coach on a long-term basis, as she has changed as many as four coaches in the last 13 months.

After splitting with former coach, Dmitry Tursunov, Emma Raducanu has appointed Andy Murray’s ex-fitness trainer, Jez Green. The Briton has also been hampered by injuries this season, as she recently suffered a wrist injury which forced her to miss the last part of the season. Despite the setbacks, the US Open 2021 champion vows to make a strong comeback next season, starting with a good run at the Australian Open 2023.
