Nick Kyrgios ready to play at the NBA All-Star Celebrity game
The National Basketball Association All-Star Game is a basketball exhibition game hosted every February by the National Basketball Association (NBA) and features 24 of the league’s star players. This is the signature event of the NBA All-Star Weekend, a three-day event that runs from Friday to Sunday.
But besides star basketball players, both the teams also include some guest players which feature in the All-star Celebrity game. These guest players include celebrities from all walks of life. This year a tennis player is also part of the roster. Frances Tiafoe will play for Dwayne Wade‘s team against Ryan Smith‘s team.
The World No.14 shared his excitement for the much-anticipated game on social media. In the short video, he was seen training in Bradley Beal‘s jersey of the Washington Wizards with former basketball player Jack Paul McClinton.
Frances Tiafoe got an email in which it was confirmed that he is chosen to play in the NBA All-star game.
“It’s an honor man, it’s an honor. I still didn’t really know until I got that email, but once I got that email that ‘You’re going to All Star’ I was like, ‘This is crazy!’,” he said.
The All-star game will be played out this weekend in the Salt Lake City, Utah. The 25-year old will play on February 17.

Nick Kyrgios would miss this year’s NBA All-star game
As they say, “one man’s loss is another man’s gain”. Nick Kyrgios participated in last year’s All-Star celebrity game. However, as he is struggling to recover from a knee injury, he is set to miss out on the NBA game. He will have to sit-out and watch the game. Meanwhile, he is optimistic that he will return to participate in the NBA All-Star game next year.
“I shoulda been in the All-Star game, no one guarding me. I’ll be back,” he remarked.
Meanwhile, Frances Tiafoe got the chance to represent tennis sport in the NBA All-star Celebrity game. Besides him, Naomi Osaka‘s boyfriend Cordae will also feature in the NBA All-star celebrity game. However, he will play for Tiafoe’s opposing team, Ryan Smith’s team.
“Trying to learn as much as I possibly can about getting decent at basketball so I don’t embarrass my whole family and everybody that I know,” he expressed.
Nick Kyrgios had to withdraw his name from some very important tournaments this season. This includes United Cup 2023, Adelaide International 2 tournament and Australian Open 2023. He is hoping that he will be able to recover in time for the Sunshine doubles.
