WATCH: Holger Rune gives a death stare to Lorenzo Musetti after the Italian fires a bodyshot at the Dane
Things got heated between Holger Rune and Lorenzo Musetti in the Queen's Club quarter-final after the Italian's body shot at the Dane.

It was a hot evening at the Queen’s Club. Hot, not because of the British Summer but due to the clash between youngsters Holger Rune and Lorenzo Musetti. The two locked horns in the quarter-finals as both look to gear up for the 2023 Wimbledon.
In their respective bid to outplay each other, things got heated between the duo. Musetti served to start the game with Rune firing up the ball in his second return. It presented the Italian with a drop-shot chance that was hit poorly. Rune, however, guessed it right before failing to win the point with a freebie of a backhand. A small exchange of serve and volley took place between the two before the Dane skied the ball once again and Musetti did not squander this time.
The shot however went directly at Rune’s body as the second seed was hit on his left arm while ducking. The Italian immediately raised his hand to apologize. But Rune was not in the mood to forgive serving a serious look to his counterpart. Musetti immediately turned away to avoid any altercation but Rune continued to stare in anger before reaching for his towel.
The crowd in the stands, however, enjoyed it as they clapped and cheered with a few jeers as well. While Musetti did immediately apologize, Rune’s angered reaction certainly aroused the crowd more to fire up the atmosphere at the Queen’s Club.
Holger Rune has the final laugh
The drop shot by Lorenzo Musetti hardly made a difference to the scoreline as Holger Rune managed to keep things in control. He advanced into the semi-finals with a 6-4, 7-5 win to move closer to his maiden grass-court title. Surprisingly, the youngster was yet to win a match on grass prior to playing this week. He has however made good use of his seeding and experience over the past few months to get his first wins and likely his first title on the surface.
As for Musetti, things continue to move southwards with yet another close defeat on the Tour. Earlier in the day, Alex de Minaur defeated French veteran Adriano Mannarino to make it into the semis where he will now take on Rune. The clash between Rune and de Minaur promises to be exciting as both youngsters have been playing an exciting brand of tennis.
The second semi-final is yet to be decided, however. Top seed Carlos Alcaraz challenges Grigor Dimitrov while Sebastian Korda and local lad Cameron Norrie also go head-to-head. The winner of the two matches will play the second semi-final before making their place in Sunday’s final at the ATP-500 event.
