Iga Swiatek’s form coming into this Masters tournament
The current World No.1 had a dominant run last season. She won eight singles titles including two Grand Slam titles. However, this year she struggled in the first couple of months. She could not help her country win the inaugural edition of the United Cup. She also gave a mediocre performance in the Australian Open. However, she soon came back to form to win her first WTA title this season.
Iga Swiatek won the Qatar Open. She also took revenge for her loss in the United Cup semi-final round singles match against Jessica Pegula by beating her in the final of this WTA 500 tournament. She also reached the final of the Dubai Tennis Championships but was defeated by Barbora Krejcikova in the final of this tournament.
Following this defeat, many critics began to believe that domination of the Polish player on the WTA tour could be on an end. Her fans too wants to see her in best form and giving splendid performances in the tournaments. Hence, coming into the Indian Wells Open this season, there is an increased pressure on her as she is eyeing for her title defense.
