BTS star Jin at the Korea Open
Casper Ruud, the 23-year-old Norwegian tennis professional recently cemented his position as one of the best players on tour. Ruud managed to reach the finals of the 2022 US Open after a thrilling campaign. He was unable to go all the way and win the title as Carlos Alcaraz got the best of him in the penultimate match.
Currently competing in the Korea Open, Casper Ruud faced off against Chilean Nicolas Jarry. Ruud came away from the match with a victory as he progressed to the quarter-finals of the tournament. The highlight of the game was when K-pop and BTS superstar Jin was seen amongst the crowd supporting Ruud.
Clips of the BTS superstar instantly went viral on social media. He also received massive cheers from the fans when he was shown on the big screen considering his popularity across the globe. Casper Ruud has gained one massive follower in the Korean superstar’s form.
Casper Ruud bows out of the Korea Open
After defeating Nicolas Jarry over three sets in the first round of the Korea Open. Casper Ruud went up against Japan’s Yoshihito Nishioka, the Japanese professional proved to be too much to handle for Ruud as he was eliminated in the second round in a match that lasted over three sets.
Recently having reached the finals of the US Open. there were a lot of expectations on Casper Ruud’s shoulders. The Norwegian was unable to deliver on those expectations as he bows out of the Korea Open. In a match that ended 2-6, 6-3, 2-6 Ruud saw himself getting eliminated from the tournament.
Nishioka has been enjoying good form as he progresses to the semi-finals of the tournament after defeating Ruud. His opponent in the last 4 stages is yet to be decided, however.
