WATCH: Nick Kyrgios being himself once again adding drama by seeking fan advice during his first-round match at the Citi Open 2022

Nick Kyrgios during his first round match at the Citi Open 2022
Nick Kyrgios cruised his way into the second round of the Citi Open 2022 with a comfortable win in the first round against Marcos Giron 6-3,6-2 in sixty minutes of play. The Australian had an early round exit at last year’s Citi Open but had won the singles title at the Citi Open in 2019. He served 12 aces and won 82 per cent of his first serves in his first singles match since Wimbledon.
Kyrgios is looking great with his consistent form since the start of the year, especially after his dream run at the All England Club. He faced the 21-time Grand Slam champion from Serbia Novak Djokovic in his first ever singles final at the SW19 but eventually lost the game in a thrilling four-set game. Apart from competing in the singles category, he also competes in the doubles category. Recently, Kyrgios combined with his compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis to win their second title of the year at Atlanta, the first being at the Australian Open 2022.

Nick Kyrgios is on a roll with his performances this year

Nick Kyrgios has been dealing with a lot of anger management issues apart from his aggressive style of play. He has even been fined for it but it still remains a major area of concern for the Aussie. Even though his on-court antics of bashing racquets, and engaging in verbal spats with the chair umpires and sometimes, even with spectators have been the talk of the town during his maiden final at Wimbledon 2022, he did not fail to engage the audience during his first-round match at the Citi Open against Marcos Giron one again.
In a video shared by the official page of the Citi Open, Kyrgios went up to a lady spectator seated in the first row and asked her where should he serve his match point. He went down the middle but found the net. After apologizing to the fan, the Australian sealed victory on his second serve. This is not the first instance where Kyrgios walked up to the audience to seek advice on where to serve the next point. He repeated this same antic at the Citi Open in 2019 and it seems he is in love with engaging the audience time and again.
Kyrgios now holds a 22-7 record on the season and will look to improve that when he plays Tommy Paul in the second round. The Australian star player is showing no signs of slowing down in the lead-up to the US Open 2022.
