Novak Djokovic, the only male player to win 23 Grand Slam singles titles, gave yet another moving speech in the presentation ceremony. He was gracious and humble despite having created a record that is going to be difficult to match. The Serbian looked blissful during the presentation ceremony, having achieved the greatest feat in the realm of tennis.

Djokovic thanked his team and family to no ends, for bearing with him. He turned toward his box addressing his coach Goran Ivanisevic, other team members, and his entire family. Though his brothers were missing he also thanked them. The 36-year-old talked about the tough times the team has gone through in the past few years, especially due to getting defaulted at the U.S. Open in 2020 and missing out on three Grand Slams due to COVID non-vaccination status.

He thanked the family for their endurance to go through the tough times along with him with great unison. He said “You know that we (Novak Djokovic’s team and family) have been through the trials and tribulations every single day. You know how difficult I can be on a daily basis. So I thank you first of all for patience and tolerance because probably that stands out more than anything else.”

Novak Djokovic joked about the few weeks at Roland Garros as the team had to manage his expectations and also other physical challenges perhaps. Djokovic said, “What I have done to you all in the past few weeks people don’t know but I was torturing you.” As he said those lines the camera captured his coach Goran Ivanisevic giggling and nodding his head in agreement. “Thank you for being my rock my support and believing in me,” added the 36-year-old.

The World No. 2 said that he felt grateful to be able to win 23 Grand Slam singles titles. The greatest player tennis has seen doesn’t deny the magnanimity of his achievements. And he hoped could inspire his own kids and people around the world with his achievements. “My kids are here I hope they can learn something or draw an inspiration. And judging by their smiles they are enjoying it, ” said the Serbian.

Then he shifted his focus and addressed anyone on the globe who is pursuing any passion of theirs. He told the world that if Novak Djokovic as a 7-year-old dreamed to win a Wimbledon and ended up winning 23 Grand Slam singles titles, even others can excel in anything they put their mind to. Djokovic said highlighting his incredible achievements that he created his destiny.

I feel I had the power to create my own destiny. I tried to visualize every single thing in my life,” said Djokovic. He even urged every young person listening to him to go for their dream and dream big. “Be in the present, forget about what happened in the past. Future is something that is just going to happen but if you want a better future, you create it. Take the means in your hand, believe it. Create it,” concluded the Serb.
