The defending champions at the 2024 Australian Open are certainly enjoying their time this year. Women’s World No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka has comfortably stormed into the quarterfinals. She has yet to lose a set at the Major this year. Men’s World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been made to work hard but is still in the last eight.

Both the players had teamed up in mixed doubles in the exhibition event before the start of the Grand Slam event. The duo is slowly becoming fan favorites owing to their fun personalities on and off the court. Their fun side was again on display with some exclusive locker room footage.

Sabalenka was spotted showing off her athleticism, but it came at the expense of one of her coaches. The Belarusian kicked a bottle standing atop her trainer’s head.

Lucky for him, the former World No. 1 easily knocked it down, leaving him surprised. The video quickly went viral after the Australian Open’s channel shared it on X (formerly Twitter).

A fresh new video has gone viral once again. This time, it is not Sabalenka, but Nole. In the hopes of recreating the Belarusian’s kick, Djokovic also placed a bottle on one of his team members’ heads. He was, however, unsuccessful in completing it, as he left laughing about it.

Fiery clashes await Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka in the quarter-finals

As both players look to defend their crowns, the challenges are only going to increase. Aryna Sabalenka will take on former French Open winner and 9th-seeded Barbora Krejcikova.

The Czech defeated teen sensation Mirra Andreeva to reach the quarter-finals. The Belarusian currently leading the head-to-head 5-1.

Novak Djokovic will battle against the in-form American Taylor Fritz. The 12th seed defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas in an epic 4-setter to make the last 8 at Melbourne Park. Djokovic leads their head-to-head 8-0 and will look to ensure Fritz remains winless against him. Nole has won seven of these matches in straight sets.

Both these quarter-finals are scheduled on the Rod Laver Arena. Nole will play the final match of the morning session. Sabalenka will open the court for the night session.
