With the arrival of the New Year, everyone around the world went into a festive mood. Tennis stars were not behind in the celebrations. Serbian icon Novak Djokovic too had a good time welcoming 2023 in Australia. 

Djokovic was in the company of his brother Marco. 21-time Grand Slam champion is currently in Adelaide for the Adelaide International tournament. Djokovic is really enjoying his time Down Under after his return there in almost two years.

Eurosport revealed on Twitter how Novak Djokovic celebrated the arrival of the New Year. “Ever wondered how @DjokerNole spends his New Years Eve?” the tweet read.

In the attached video Djokovic is having fun in a restaurant. In a jovial mood, the 35-year-old is tapping the table in sync with the beats of the song playing in the background.

Novak Djokovic gets a hero’s welcome in Adelaide as the Serb starts the 2023 season

All of Novak Djokovic’s fans were waiting eagerly for the Serbian star to see him in action. Djokovic marked the start of the season at the Adelaide International tournament. Fans gave him a hero’s welcome during his first match in Australia in almost two years. 

Djokovic partnered with Canada’s Vasek Pospisil against the duo of Tomislav Brkic and Gonzalo Escobar. The pair of Dkovic and Pospisil lost to their opponent eventually 4-6, 6-3, 10/5. But as far as the 21-time major winner is concerned, he enjoyed the overwhelming support he received from the crowd.

After the event, Djokovic with head to Melbourne for the Australian Open which is his favorite hunting ground. There he will be looking to extend his record 9 wins and level the overall Grand Slam tally with his Spanish rival Rafael Nadal. The Slam starts in less than two weeks now, all the fans need to do is sit back and wait with bated breath.
