Rafael Nadal faces Alexander Zverev in the semifinal of the French Open 2022 and he is chasing the title at Stade Roland Garros for the record fourteenth time in Paris. Though Nadal is a slight favorite in this semifinal encounter, Zverev came out all guns blazing and played a phenomenal first set. It was a very long physical struggle between the two great players.
Rafael Nadal has never backed down from physical toils and it was another long set where Nadal was broken early by Alexander Zverev in their semifinal encounter at the French Open 2022. Nadal broke back and was serving for the set, but Zverev saved three set points to push Nadal into the tiebreak for the set. It was an intense physical struggle between both the players as Nadal managed to hit an incredible winner after being down set points.

Rafael Nadal makes a stubborn defense to take the first set.
After defending three set points, Zverev took a might lead in the tiebreak and had four set points against Rafa. Nadal saved all those four set points and the last one of the saves was an incredible running forehand winner from Rafa. He was being overrun by Zverev as the german geared up to wrap the first set. Rafa chased down all the balls and hit this incredible passing shot to defend the set point. He finally ground down Zverev to take the first set 7-6(10-8).
Fans were amazed with the stupendous defense mounted by Rafa in the first set.
