Rafael Nadal gears up for his comeback, as the Spaniard was seen in a joint practice session with young Dane Holger Rune. After a year of injuries and recovery, the 22-time Grand Slam title champion prepares for his return at the Brisbane International.
Rafa had shifted gears in his practice and moved from normal practice to playing against ATP players before heading into 2024, where he returns to the professional stage after a year. Earlier in the day, the 37-year-old touched down in Brisbane, and in no time, he was seen practicing against Rune.
The young Dane started peaking towards the end of the season and quickly got his name as one of the youngsters to watch out for in the upcoming year.
Rune also posted a small post featuring his practice with the Spanish great.

Man of the moment Rafael Nadal has been in the spotlight ever since he announced his return to tennis at the Brisbane International. Almost every practice of his is closely watched by many tennis enthusiasts and commented on.
Recently, he was seen in a joint practice session with Holger Rune, hours after he reached Brisbane. In one video, the Spaniard was seen having an intense rally with the young Dane before hitting a winner down the line and sealing the point to his name.
This is just a practice before Nadal has to face the real stress of the tournament, playing hours of tennis with minimal breaks in between matches. The Spaniard himself doesn’t expect anything from his return to the sport, but his fans believe that Rafa might do well and be in line for his 23rd Slam.
Even his rival Novak Djokovic backs the Spaniard and expects Nadal to make a strong comeback in Australia by playing well and proving people wrong, like he has done before.
The Spaniard will officially make his return at the start of the year and will try to make the most of the ATP tournament before the big tournament.
