WATCH: Rafael Nadal in crutches due to his foot treatment days after winning the French Open

Spanish superstar Rafael Nadal solidified his claim to be the Greatest of all time winning the 2022 French Open- his 22nd major title. He defeated Casper Ruud in the final in straight sets 6-3,6-3,6-0 to win a record 14th Roland Garros title. He is now 2 majors ahead of Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, who both have won 20 grand slam titles each.
This was the first time Nadal won a grand slam by beating four Top 10 players and to do it with an ailing foot is something only he could’ve done. Nadal’s foot condition kicked in a week before Roland Garros at Time where he lost his Round of 16 match. Nadal played almost the entire French Open with a numbed foot, i.e. he had to take injections before the match to minimize the pain.
Rafael Nadal gets his first session of foot treatment done
After his French Open triumph, Nadal said that he can’t continue to play with this level of pain and doesn’t want to play with injections before every match either. He revealed that the doctors are going to try a treatment on his foot in a few days in order to get a definite solution.
The treatment on Nadal’s foot has started in Barcelona. It is assumed that there will be 2-3 sessions of treatment on Rafa’s left foot of which the first session is completed. He was snapped at Barcelona leaving for his home in Mallorca on crutches. Nadal was snapped getting out of his car on crutches and signing a few autographs for fans waiting for him at the airport.
