Enjoying some time off the tennis court, World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz decided to pay a visit to football giants Real Madrid’s locker room after their game against Elche in La Liga. Alcaraz, like his idol Rafael Nadal is a huge Real Madrid fan and is involved in footballing circles often. In the away game, Real Madrid notched a convincing 3-0 win against Elche where Federico Valverde, Karim Benzema, and Marco Asensio scored a goal each.

This was the game where Benzema scored for the first time after winning his maiden Ballon d’Or title a couple of days back. Real Madrid has now extended their lead at the top of the La Liga table and is 6 points clear of second-placed FC Barcelona. They have won 9 out of their 10 matches and have 28 points to their name.

After the match, Carlos Alcaraz visited the locker room and met all the Real Madrid stars along with the manager Carlo Ancelotti. He was pictured with Ancelotti, Benzema, Modric, Vinicius Jr., Rodrygo, and other Madrid stars.

After winning his maiden grand slam title in New York last month, Carlos Alcaraz became the youngest World No.1 in men’s tennis history. But since then, he hasn’t shown much form. In the last tournament he played, he bowed out in the first round and will now be seen in action next week at the Swiss Indoors in Basel. He will then play the Paris Masters before eventually finishing his season at the ATP Finals in Turin.

He is almost 900 points clear of second-placed Rafael Nadal in the ATP Rankings currently and more than 1100 points clear of third-placed Casper Ruud. If he makes it to the business end of the upcoming tournaments, he is ensured to end the year as World No.1. Realistically, only Nadal, Ruud, Medvedev, or Tsitsipas could snatch the No.1 ranking from him this year.
