Both Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka hail from Switzerland and has contributed greatly to bring the country at the center of the tennis world map. Both the players won multiple Grand Slam titles in their respective careers. While, Roger Federer won 20 Grand Slam singles titles in his career, Stan Wawrinka too has three Grand Slam singles titles against his name.

Both the players also played together as a doubles pair and won the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games gold medal. He was also instrumental in the victorious campaign of Team Switzerland in the Davis Cup 2014. Even with significant achievements to his name, Stan Wawrinka is aware of the fact that he is considered as one step below Roger Federer. Although, Stan Wawrinka is aware of this fact, he believes that Roger Federer and his achievements are unparallel and will always have a great place in the history of Swiss tennis.

“There were positives. I grew and got better thanks to him. Roger helped me a lot. Thanks to him, I won the Olympic Games and the Davis Cup. These are two of the biggest titles of my career. It is certain that the fact of arriving behind him, especially in Switzerland, regardless of the results that I could have, in any case, was always going to be light years away from him. No one will be able to do what he did, at least not in Switzerland. What I do, I do the best I can. You have to be able to enjoy that kind of career too,”  he had said in an interview.
