WATCH: The ‘crazy’ US Open dancing fan takes off 11 ‘RF and Nadal’ t-shirts during Roger Federer’s farewell match
Roger Federer
Roger Federer retired from professional tennis on Friday night as he played his last match in professional tennis alongside Rafael Nadal at the Laver Cup. The iconic ‘Fedal’ pairing lost the match against Americans Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock in three sets 6-4,7-6,11-9. Due to his unsuccessful knee surgery, Federer made the tough call a few days ago to retire from tennis.
The O2 Arena was packed to see the ‘magician’ perform his magic for one last time. Fans from all around the world had come to witness history being made. One fan that caught everyone’s eye was a man who wore 11 ‘t-shirts’ with either ‘RF’ branding or Nadal’s bull branding. It was the same fan who is popular for dancing during the US Open. He had even danced with Novak Djokovic on the court during the 2015 US Open.
As soon as the cameras turned to the fan, he started dancing and removed all his 11 t-shirts one by one. He engaged with the crowd and his last t-shirt was the iconic ‘RF’ training shirt. When the ‘crazy’ fan came on the big screen, Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic, who was coaching them, quickly recognized the fan. “You know this guy? This guy is from the US Open,” Federer said. “He’s the one taking the shirt out,” Nadal acknowledged with a big laugh.
