Casper Ruud is up against the young in-form Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz in the finals of the US Open. During the first set of play, Ruud was down by a game with Alcaraz serving as 4-3. Upon serve, Ruud got a bit late to the ball and hence returned it after the second bounce with the chair umpire failing to call it a fault but in return, the Spaniard hit an error and lost the point.

But Ruud being a true gentleman, walked up to the umpire to inform his mistake and gift the point to his opponent which showed his nature of fair play, and it was widely appreciated by the crowd as well as by Alcaraz for showing the true spirit of sportsmanship.

Both players have been playing some excellent level of tennis for the past fortnight as they both are on the way to their maiden major title along with becoming the world number one. It has been a historic US Open where the players in the finals are not the Big-3.
