American alpine ski racer Lindsey Vonn shared another post on social media regarding the GOAT of tennis, but this time there was a change. While the renowned ski race was hailing Swiss tennis maestro Roger Federer as the GOAT of tennis a few weeks back, Vonn labeled Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic with the same title this time.
Vonn caught up with the 24-time Grand Slam champion as Djokovic prepares to play at the Indian Wells. The two clicked pictures, and Vonn shared them on social media. She also wrote a caption where she declared Djokovic as the GOAT of tennis.
However, the 39-year-old clarified that Federer is also the GOAT for her and that there can be more than one “greatest of all time”.
Hanging with the [goat emoji], and yes, I do believe he is the goat. Contrary to Twitter beliefs, I think there can be more than one. But @DjokerNole holds the records and I have nothing but respect for what he’s achieved… and he skis!Lindsey Vonn wrote while sharing pictures with Novak Djokovic.
What was the controversy Lindsey Vonn sparked with her post about Roger Federer?
Lindsey Vonn’s post about Novak Djokovic being the GOAT of tennis comes after she was brutally trolled for declaring Roger Federer the greatest of all time. Notably, the Olympic champion had shared a heartfelt post on social media after spending time with Federer.
Vonn had declared the Swiss legend as the GOAT of tennis. While it was all well-received, Vonn, using the phrase “no matter what the statistics say” attracted criticism. Novak Djokovic fans perceived it as an indirect attempt to belittle the Serbian’s achievements.
Although Vonn took down her post on X and also clarified her sentiments, she faced scrutiny. Novak Djokovic fans found different ways to get back at Vonn. However, the Olympic champion has cleverly dealt with the situation by sharing this picture with Djokovic and declaring him the GOAT.
