“We’ll take him on” Courteney Cox invites Iga Swiatek for a Doubles match to take revenge against her hitting partner

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek has been sensational this season and her numbers speak for themselves. The Pole, who became the top-ranked player following the sudden retirement of Ash Barty, turned out to be a great Tour leader making her presence known both on and off the court.
Courteney Cox, the famed actor known for portraying ‘Monica Geller’ on the sitcom F.R.I.E.N.D.S., recently uploaded a reel on Instagram where she was seen playing tennis with her hitting partner. While she managed to hold off for some time, a powerful shot from her partner turned out to be too much for her.
Commenting on it, Swiatek had said, “If we’d play doubles together, no one would have hit you. Just saying.” Cox eventually saw the tennis superstar’s comment after a couple of days and replied, “Ok, come over, we’ll take him on!! I mean this.”
Iga Swiatek could actually team up with Courteney Cox in the coming months
With only the WTA-1000 Guadalajara Open currently being played in tiers above the WTA-125, Swiatek is missing the tournament having already qualified for the 2022 WTA Finals. With two Grand Slam titles and more than 10,000 ranking points, it’s no surprise the Pole was the first one to qualify for the Finals.
With the Year-End Championships to be held in Fort Worth, USA, Swiatek will be back on the continent for the event that starts on 31st October. Swiatek is 24-1 in the USA this year with her only defeat in the country this year coming in the third round of the Cincinnati Open.
Playing in the USA, Swiatek won titles in Indian Wells, Miami, San Diego and the biggest of the lot at the 2022 US Open in New York. Prior to her defeat in Cincinnati, she was 13-0 before going on to win another 11 matches in the last few weeks.
With Cox also staying in the USA and Swiatek having already withdrawn from the 2022 BJK Cup finals, it could well and truly happen that the 21-year-old goes on to meet and play with one of the most famous TV actors on the planet. While Cox lives in Malibu which is quite far from Fort Worth, one can’t rule out the possibility of Swiatek making the trip after her season ends.
