Feeling the pressure this season, Emma Raducanu has had an underwhelming year as she faced early exits from every major tournament she has played this season. Her bad run of form seems to be a long-time thing as the young Brit lost to Ludmilla Samsonova in the quarter-finals of the 2022 Citi Open.

Emma Raducanu’s progress at the Citi Open was cut short after she lost to Ludmilla Samsonova in the quarter-finals of the event. Raducanu lost the match by 6(6)-7, 1-6. Gearing up for her US Open title defence at the end of this month, the loss at Citi Open will not serve the young Brit good.

Fans took to Twitter to call out Raducanu on her performances, some fans even went as far as to say that early elimination at the Flushing Meadows is guaranteed with her recent performances, and Raducanu staying inside the top 100 by the end of this season will be seen as a win for her at this point.

Fans showed no mercy in expressing their displeasure ober the teenager’s performances, as the defending champion of the US Open, Raducanu sits on 2040 points and her rankings will take a tumble if she unable to perform in the final major tournament of the season. As the defending champion, there will be a lot of added pressure on the young Brit and with her underwhelming performances her performing well at the tournament looks unlikey according to fans across various various social media platforms.

Under new temporary coach, Dmitry Tursunov, Raducanu has faced her first defeat and she will be looking to change things up as the US Open is right around the corner.
