World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has kept his reputation alive and has performed as everyone expected him to perform on the grass this season. He started his show with a four-set win over Kwon Soon-woo in the first round, followed by a straight-set victory against Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round. He was absolutely ruthless in terms of numbers and performance against Miomir Kecmanovic in the third round. He started the match with a stalemate win not letting Miomir get a single game. Djokovic continued his embarking form in the second set as well and although Kecmanovic showed some signs of a fightback in the third set, in the end, it was an easy win for Djokovic to take him to the round of 16. Then he faced Van Rijthoven and beat him in four sets to reach the quarter-finals. In the quarter-final, he faced Jannik Sinner and some would put that as the best match of the tournament and add it to one of Novak’s all-time classics list. He lost the first two sets and some thought that the top-seeded star is going to get knocked out but then Djokovic replied with great resistance and won the match in fine fashion by 7-5, 6-2, 3-6, 2-6, 2-6 to progress into the semi-finals.

On the other hand, Cameron Norrie has been in stellar form and after a brilliant win in the first round tie against Pablo Andujar where he beat Pablo in straight sets he had to play Jaume Munar in the second round. Jaume gave Norrie a scare and a great test for the qualification. Both battled it out in a five-set thriller and Norrie was lucky in the end to qualify for the third round where he faced Steve Johnson. It was all but a comfortable and straightforward match for Norrie as he didn’t have to sweat it out to win the tie. Next, he faced Tommy Paul and it was as everyone had expected from the local boy as Norrie once defied all odds and came up victorious and ended the match with a straight-sets win and progressed to the quarter-finals. He then faced the experienced David Goffin and it was a match full of comebacks and excitement as the two stars battled it out in a five-set thriller with Norrie having the last laugh and won the match by 6-3, 5-7, 6-2, 3-6, 5-7 keeping his hunt for the Wimbledon alive.

Novak Djokovic will go in as the favorite to win the match given his form and superior ranking. He is one of the best players in the world and has proven himself on grass before given that he is the 3-time defending champion. While Norrie will have the backing of the home crowd, beating Djokovic is altogether a different thing. Expect a good match with Djokovic moving into the next round.
