World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka will face off against Boulter in the second round of the China Open on October 3. This is the duo’s third meeting. However, in the previous two meetings, it was Sabalenka who emerged victorious. The Belarusian is probably in the best form yet, with a final appearance at the US Open. She also recently became World No. 1, overtaking Iga Swiatek, who formerly held this position.

World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka advanced to the second round of the China Open following a first-round defeat over American Sofia Kenin. She defeated the 24-year-old in straight sets with a score of 6-1, 6-2.

However, Sabalenka is currently playing her best tennis. Her most recent accomplishment was reaching the final of the US Open 2023, where she lost against Coco Gauff. However, regardless of the outcome of the match, the Belarusian became the World No.1 following Iga Swiatek’s early upset at the American Grand Slam.

Katie Boulter, on the other hand, has not had quite an impressive season. With a third-round finish at the US Open at the US Open, this was her best finish at a Grand Slam. She has a career-high ranking of World No. 50, which she currently holds. She defeated Magdalena Frech in the opening round of the tournament with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 2-6 in her favor.

Aryna Sabalenka and Katie Boulter have locked horns with each other twice before this upcoming match. However, in each of these meetings, the Belarusian has proved that she was the better player. However, these statistics are probably not going to change considering both their current forms. Sabalenka seems almost unstoppable at this point of the season with extraordinary performances throughout the year.
