One of the fiercest competitors on the court, Caroline Garcia is ruthless on the court. She had a bad start to the year as she lost in the first round of the Australian Open singles competition. She played well enough to advance to the French Open second round, but Madison Keys of the United States upset her in straight sets. However, she and fellow Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic shared the women’s doubles trophy at Roland Garros.

She defeated Bianca Andreescu in the Bad Homburg Open final to win her first WTA singles title of the year. Despite her strong performance at Wimbledon, she was eliminated in the fourth round. She subsequently won the Poland Open and the Cincinnati Masters. She performed well in the US Open but was knocked out in the semi-final round by Ons Jabeur. In the ongoing WTA Finals 2022 tournament, she defeated Coco Gauff and Daria Kasatkina but lost against Iga Swiatek in the Group stage.
