“Really annoyed,” WTA player comes down hard on the ‘disturbing’ heckling from drunken audience at the Australian Open
After the loss against Paula Badosa, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova opened up about the heckling and trolling she received from the Party Court at Court 6.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova was defeated by Paula Badosa in the second round of the Australian Open. The match was pretty much one-sided as the Spaniard beat her in straight sets.
After the match, the Russian player opened up about the heckling she received from the Australian crowd. The match was played on Court 6. Besides this, there is the Party Court, which consists of bars and restaurants.
As per the tennis professional herself, there were some people in the crowd who seemed drunk. They started screaming at her, which disturbed and annoyed her at the very start of the match.
There were a couple of guys, I think they got drunk. And they started to scream and meow [at me]. I think maybe because I have this tattoo on my leg [which reads meow] or just because of course they had some drinks and so it was really disturbing. It was not nice to be honest. I was really annoyed at the start of the match. I have no problem playing on the outside courts. But this one was special in terms of the noise and also the court.In an interview with inews, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova said

Notably, tennis players demand a bit of calm and relaxation during the matches. However, facilities such as the Party Court, which boasts a DJ and plays loud music, can be distracting for the players.
The Party Court, which was built to add another dimension of experience to tennis fans, has raised various debates and discussions around it.
Even before Pavlyuchenkova, Arthur Rinderknech complained about the loud noise from the Party Court. Moreover, he claimed that he felt like playing in a nightclub.
