Iga Swiatek was off to a flying start in Stuttgart as she defeated youngster Eva Lys before facing US Open champion Emma Raducanu. She defeated Raducanu with relative ease in the quarterfinals. She then took on Ludmilla Samsonova and it was a very exciting semifinal. After a long time, Swiatek played a three setter but the Pole kept her composure and had the last laugh over the Russian.

It has been a very underwhelming season for Aryna Sabalenka so far after multiple early exits starting from the Australian Open to the Masters in Indian Wells and Miami. She also bowed out of the quarterfinals at the Charleston Open. However, her performances in Stuttgart have been top notch as she has beaten some strong players en route to the finals. The Belarusian defeated Bianca Andreescu in round 16 to kick start her WTA Stuttgart Open followed by another big win against Anett Kontaveit. However, her biggest of the year has to be beating Paula Badosa in straight sets in the semifinals in Stuttgart.

Playing Style

It will be a battle between two powerful tennis players who play very aggressive tennis. While Iga Swiatek will look to dominate rallies. She likes to play with the dimensions of the court and creates angles for her returns. Whereas Sabalenka has a good serve and is majorly a baseliner who has mastered the drop shot really well. She has added this to her armoury and she used it really well in the win against Badosa. So it promises to be a very exciting title clash at the WTA Stuttgart Open.
