“You shameless, cowardly b***ards!” Novak Djokovic’s fans call for US Open boycott after they release a promotional poster without the 21-time major champ

The Novak Djokovic saga keeps getting heated and more complicated with each passing day as the US Open comes closer. Djokovic, due to his unvaccinated status, isn’t permitted to enter the USA and as a result of which will miss the US Open. But just a few days back, the CDC issued statements in which they didn’t discriminate between vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals.
The CDC is also looking to make amends in the travel guidelines and hence, Djokovic is still named on the entry list. If Djokovic doesn’t withdraw before the US Open draw, he will be drawn in the main draw as the 5th seed but will eventually be removed and replaced by a lucky loser/qualifier because he won’t be able to compete.
Djokovic is technically not out of the US Open as he hasn’t withdrawn yet but recently, the official social media handle of the US Open released a promotional poster for the event where all the top contenders and players were featured except Djokovic. On the men’s side, the poster featured Rafael Nadal, Daniil Medvedev, Carlos Alcaraz, and Nick Kyrgios while on the women’s side, the poster featured Iga Swiatek, Naomi Osaka, Emma Raducanu, and Serena Williams.

Fans were very unhappy by this because Djokovic hasn’t yet withdrawn from the tournament and him not getting featured is a total disrespect to the 21-time grand slam champion. What makes things even worse is that Alcaraz, who hasn’t even reached a grand slam semifinal, and Kyrgios, who is hated by the crowd, got featured ahead of Djokovic.
