Qinwen Zheng defeated Anna Kalinskaya in the quarterfinal of the 2024 Australian Open to reach the semi-final of the tournament. She has performed brilliantly in the Grand Slam so far this season, and she indeed deserved a spot in the final four.

After her victory against the Russian player, Qinwen Zheng was seen having a talk with 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic when he was yet to take on Taylor Fritz, and she has now revealed exactly what they talk about.

First of all, Zheng appreciated the calmness with which the Serb talked to him. She said that it did not look like he had a match to play in a few minutes’ time. The Chinese said that she is herself very focused before her matches and prefers to be ‘in zone’ and that she would love to learn to be so chill from the top players.

Well, that talks is really fast, honestly. I talk with him, you know, before his match. You know, he come to say hi to me, so chill. Looks like he doesn't have a match. Because me, before the match, I'm really focused and I don't want to talk with no one. I really want to learn that chill from the top players, because I think that is what I miss, yeah. I mean, was really nice conversation with Novak yesterday.

Talking about her quarterfinal match against Kalinskaya, the Chinese lost the first set but made an incredible comeback from there to win the match eventually with seemingly no struggle at all. This is the first time that she has made it to the semi-final of a Grand Slam.

The story of Dayana Yastremska is also the same. She has also made it to the semifinals of a Grand Slam for the first time ever.

Thus, one of these two players will also make it to the final of a Grand Slam for the first time ever in this tournament. The two have not played a single match against each other yet and are poised to have a sensational semi-final clash that fans will enjoy. The winner takes on the winner of the match between Coco Gauff and Aryna Sabalenka in the final.
