With the Australian Open, just days ahead of us let’s recall one of Nick Kyrgios’ sudden outbursts at the 2021 edition. Nick Kyrgios is known for his short-temper as the Aussie has been seen arguing with the umpires on several occasions.
On day one of 2021, the Australian favorite very conveniently lived up to the expectations and made the news, for yelling at his brother’s girlfriend.

Nick Kyrgios has had his fair share of disagreements and outbursts from the time the Australian started playing the sport. Some people are obsessed with him for speaking his mind. Whereas some feel that the Aussie should learn some manners.
Kyrgios however doesn’t care about either of those. He loves to be himself and other people’s opinions don’t affect him anyway.
During his first match at the 2021 Australian Open, the Aussie was facing Frederico Ferreira Silva from Portugal. After having a horrible start, being two games down Kyrgios started showing signs of frustration.
In all that frustration Kyrgios pointed towards the audience and yelled, “Tell your girlfriend to get out of my box”. The fans thought that Kyrgios shouted at his brother who was sitting with his partner right where he pointed.
However, Nick managed to beat Silva in straight sets (6-4, 6-4, 6-4). In the post-match interview when asked about the outburst, Kyrgios said, “Nah, it wasn’t her. It wasn’t her. Nah, Mate, I’m a nutcase when I’m on the court. It was just heat of the battle-type stuff. It was just being out there, all those emotions again, you outlet into people you know have your back and you know that’s not going to change. A lot of people can relate to outbursting, you know, you just need to verbalize it and lash out on someone sometimes and then I calm down and start playing some decent tennis.”
Kyrgios explained that his outburst wasn’t focused on something, it was just a way of letting out his frustrations. With the Australian Open about to commence, Australians will be eager to cheer for the local boy.
