Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis claimed the Australian Open Men’s Doubles title in the most extraordinary fashion, as they defeated the Australian pairing of Matthew Ebden and Max Purcell in straight sets by a score-line of 7-5, 6-4.
The Australian duo were simply unstoppable during the course of the tournament, as Kyrgios-Kokkinakis knocked out three of the top 10 seeds. They also defeated the top seeds, Mate Pavic and Nikola Metkic in the second round itself.
Nick Kyrgios served for the match, as he gave his opponents no chance whatsoever. Kyrgios won his service game to love, as the wildcard entrants made it all the way in Melbourne.

Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis played out an utter dominant final, as they did not give their opponents even one break point opportunity. On the other hand, the Australian duo converted two of their six chances, one each in two sets.
No one would have expected Kyrgios and Kokkinakis to come this far in the Men’s Doubles event. Both players were knocked out early in the Singles event, as Kokkinakis was defeated in the first round itself. On the other hand, Kyrgios was knocked out by Daniil Medvedev in the second round.
Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkiankis were not only crowned the Australian Open champions, but also put on an entertaining display for the fans throughout the course of the tournament.
