Yoshihito Nishioka vs Lorenzo Musetti: Preview

Lorenzo Musetti
Lorenzo Musetti

The match between Yoshihito Nishioka and Lorenzo Musetti promises to be an exciting one. Nishioka has been in amazing form lately and defeated home favorite Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in four sets 6-4,6-2,3-6,7-6(5). The ‘pocket sized dynamite’ moved very fast on court against Tsonga, which would give him a lot of confidence.

As for his opponent, Lorenzo Musetti, he is one of the best NextGen players rising up the ranks. He has impressed almost everyone on tour with his movement on Clay and showcased his talents in the first round against David Goffin. He defeated the Belgian 13th seed in straight sets comfortably 6-0,7-5,7-6(3). This upset made ways for him for a second round clash against Nishioka.

Yoshihito Nishioka vs Lorenzo Musetti: Prediction

Lorenzo Musetti
Lorenzo Musetti

This will be a very close match and could very well go down the distance. Nishioka may have an advantage given he defeated Musetti last week in Parma but the Italian caused an opening round upset as he knocked out David Goffin in straight sets, hence levelling things up.

Both the players move incredibly well on the red dirt and hence will challenge each other’s athletic abilities. Musetti will use his disguised drop shots effectively while Nishioka will look to wear his opponent down with long rallies. Expect a very exciting match, with Musetti taking revenge from last week.

Prediction: Musetti to win in five sets.
