‘Nobody is better than Novak Djokovic when it comes to making right decisions in important situations,’ says Andy Murray

World No.1 Novak Djokovic is not only the best player in the game today, but he has also been the greatest over the past decade. Ever since the Serb the 2011 Australian Open, he has dominated the ATP tour.
In the process, Djokovic has not only tied with rivals Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal for the all-time Grand Slam titles, but he has also dominated the Swiss and Spaniard, across surfaces.
While some might have reservations on billing Djokovic as the greatest of all time, there is no denying that he has records better than anybody who has picked up a racquet.
Recently, former World No.1 Andy Murray too heaped plenty of praise on his friend and rival. Explaining on how Djokovic is able to execute the right shots at the most crucial juncture, the Scot said that the 20-time Grand Slam champion is better as compared to his peers in important situations.
“I mean I’d probably say, Novak. As I would say in important situations for the most part I would say he would’ve made the right decision more often than most players I would say right now. I’d say Medvedev’s right up there,” the three-time Grand Slam winner told reporters in Indian Wells.
“I think he’s a very smart player and stuff. I think, you know, a lot that comes with confidence and also how you’re feeling about your game and your shots,” Murray added.
Will Djokovic return at Bercy Masters?
Although the 34-year-old is certain to finish the year as the top-ranked player for a record, seventh time, it remains to be seen when the Serbian superstar will return to action.
After losing in the 2021 US Open finals to World No.2 Daniil Medvedev, the nine-time Australian Open champion hasn’t played a single competitive match. Therefore, it will be pleasing for the fans to see Djokovic returning for the final two marquee events of the year in Paris and Turin.
