World No.1 Novak Djokovic celebrated his 34th birthday in Belgrade yesterday. Djokovic is with a doubt, one of the greatest tennis player to have ever stepped on the court. The Serb has won 82 career titles out of which 18 are grand slams. He is just 2 grand slam behind old foes, Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the all-time list.
Fans all over the world sent wishes to Nole, as he is loving called in the Balkans, on his Birthday. He is currently in his hometown Belgrade to compete at the Belgrade Open this week. The organizers and management also gave Djokovic a huge surprise.
The stands at the center court in Belgrade were decorated with balloons and foil balloons which read ‘NOLE 34’. Along with thta, Novak was also presented with a table where a tennis racket and grips were arranged reading ‘Nole’. The racket was a customized one with his face artistically displayed on the strings.
Jelena Djokovic pens a special message for Novak
Jelena Djokovic, Nole’s wife and ‘Novak Djokovic Foundation’ shared a special video on his birthday to embark 34 years of his life. She also uploaded stories on her instagram and penned down emotional messages for her husband.
“The most special boy was born on this day. What a gamechanger he is for so many young and old around the world. He didn’t have anything easy, and he still doesn’t. All privileges he earned. And he keeps growing, keeps striving for that upgrade of his body, mind and spirit.
I love that about him. I love to tell his story… I am grateful that I live it next to him. I am grateful that I get to celebrate this day with him, and tell him all this in person. He knows I know he is so special. But maybe you didn’t know ? so I better make sure the whole world knows – how special this day is! ????❤️? a star was born! a very bright star in my universe ? Happy birthday amore!!!,” she wrote on her instagram.
Djokovic will be seen in action this week in Belgrade. He is the top seed in the tournament and will face either a qualifier or Egor Gerasimov in the Round of 16.
