Novak Djokovic’s makes fun of the situation at Melbourne Airport
Novak Djokovic has been isolated in a room with no contact with the outside world. As the wait continues for the authorities at the Melbourne airport to confirm if the world No.1 will or will not be allowed to participate in the Australian Open.
While waiting, Novak Djokovic’s coach Goran Ivanisevic posted a picture with Djokovic’s physio Ulises Badio. He wrote in the caption “Not the most usual trip Down Under ???♀️?”. Making fun of the whole situation.
While Novak Djokovic is under detention without any contact with the outside world, it seems that his team is not aware of the hardships being faced by their player.
However, by the look on the face of Goran and Ulises, they seem to be pretty exhausted.
The Djokovic team has been through a lot in the day. After traveling for 14 hours from Dubai to Melbourne, they had to answer the questions asked by the border police at the Melbourne Airport for nearly two hours.
After that, the team was separated from Djokovic. As he was detained in an isolated room whereas his team members were left together at a lounge.
It has been nearly five hours since the meeting ended and it is expected that it will take a couple of hours more for a conclusive decision to be made by the authorities. However, if the authorities were planning on making Djokovic go back then they would’ve made a decision way sooner. Therefore, this delay does suggest that they might be trying their best to allow Djokovic to enter Australia.
