Novak Djokovic has been handed a medical exemption as is on his way to Melbourne. But according to the experts, the world No.1 might not be allowed to enter Australia with just a medical exemption.
The border laws in Australia suggest that world No.1 won’t be allowed to enter Australia if the basis of his medical exemption is contacting Covid-19 in the past 6 months.
Novak Djokovic might not be allowed to enter into Australia
Novak Djokovic reached Melbourne and is being quizzed by the border police stationed at the airport. Prior to Djokovic’s arrival, the federal officials had already realized that Djokovic’s VISA application was a bit erroneous.
After Djokovic’s arrival, the border forces asked the Victorian authorities to support the Visa, but the requests were rejected. The border forces do have the right to allow Djokovic to enter Australia and they are now reviewing Djokovic’s application.
Djokovic has been investigated for evidence to support his medical exemption for over an hour now. It is also suggested that Djokovic might be denied entry if the basis of his medical exemption is contacting Covid in the past 6 months.
This could be the case because according to the border laws in Australia an unvaccinated person with a medical exemption could be denied entry into the country if the basis of his reports is contacting Covid-19 in the past 6 months.
However, the investigation process hasn’t ended yet. Although with the passage of time the chances of Djokovic’s participation at the Australian Open become lesser and lesser.
