Unlike a lot of other tennis stars Novak Djokovic has a personality, and he is opinionated too. He is a straight talker as well. But somehow what stands out the most is his leadership and organizational skills. Last year he organized the Adria Tour. The Adria Tour was an exhibition tennis tour held in June 2020 in Belgrade, Serbia and Zadar, Croatia during the time that the ATP tour was suspended due to Covid.
Although things got a little out of hand and he faced criticism when players contracted covid etc, not many active tennis players can organize such events. This year too Novak and his team pulled off a coup when they got the hosting permission for not not one but two ATP 250 events back to back. The Serbia Open, which went off smoothly, and then just before the French Open the Belgrade Open.
Novak Djokovic talks about young Serbian players
Novak Djokovic knows hosting tennis events will benefit young Serbian tennis players Speaking on the sidelines of the Belgrade Open and specifically on the topic of young players Djokovic was adamant that you give the youngsters as much help as possible.
He said that it’s important that a country organizes these tennis events, like the Belgrade Open, so the local players don’t have to travel much and can play locally and earn points. He also sighted his own example and said that he as a young kid always learned and benefited from talking to older players.

Novak Djokovic fine tuning himself at Belgrade before Paris
Novak Djokovic will start his Belgrade Open campaign against Mats Moraing of Germany. Djokovic speaking to the media said that he was actually very happy with his preparation thus far. He thought that he was physically at the right place as well, and satisfied that he could spend close to three hours competing against Rafael Nadal on clay. Djokovic is looking forward to playing five set matches at the French Open.
Novak Djokovic said, “I was pleased with the way I played in Rome, also in the final after five hours spent on the court on Saturday. I came out and played almost three hours with Rafa on Sunday and I felt I could go on physically for a few more hours,”
Djokovic continued, “That was something that really satisfied me, knowing that I’m fit and ready to battle in best of five, which is coming up in Paris, where I really want to try to play my best tennis.”
