Voices were raised all around the world after the sudden disappearance of Peng Shuai. The Chinese tennis star was reportedly missing since the last week after she alleged sexual assault against a prominent member of Chinese Communist Party.
The ‘Where is Peng Shuai’ movement grew like fire after most of the tennis stars voiced their concerns. Big names like Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Serena Williams and Naomi Osaka asked about the whereabouts of Peng socially. WTA, ITF and ATP too issued statements regarding the same and questioned the Chinese regime.
Amidst this chaos, a positive news came on the internet after Peng was spotted at a Beijing tennis tournament on Sunday. She was clicked at the event and the images were shared by a top Chinese official after international pressure increased regarding information of her wellbeing.
Peng can be spotted in a navy sports jacket and white trackpants at the Fila Kids Junior Tennis Challenger Finals at Beijing. This is also her first appearance after she alleged sexual assault. It is also speculated that the Chinese media censored all the things that were put on the internet in Peng’s support.
Doubts raise over the legitimacy of footage

While the news is a relief to many, fans have questioned the legitimacy of the footage. The clips and images were shared by a Chinese official and hence people are raising questions. Fans are not sure whether the images are recent or not.
Many are also alleging that the footage could be staged as Peng is yet to speak to the media.
