Yulia Putintseva has been relentless at the Hungarian Open. She made her way into the semis without much hassle. However, she had a tricky opponent in the semis in the name of Dalma Galfi. Galfi was in superb touch. She didn’t even drop a single set in the tournament before stepping into the semis.
However, Yulia used her experience to good effect and thrashed Galfi in a hard-fought encounter. After dropping the second set, Yulia made a magnificent comeback and eventually won the contest by 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Yulia had a forgettable outing at Wimbledon as well as in the German Open before coming into the Hungarian Open.
However, the way she has performed till now, it would be fair to say that she is well and truly back in form. On the other hand, Anhelina Kalinina got a lucky break in the semis against second-seeded Danielle Collins. Anhelina dropped the first set, but Collins withdrew from the contest mid-game which allowed the Ukrainian tennis star to move into the finals.
However, Anhelina’s performances before the semis were truly incredible. She didn’t drop a single set in the tournament before the game against Collins. However, what happened in the semis would definitely have shaken her confidence.
