Chinese tennis ace Qinwen Zheng has been on the rise in the past few months. The 21-year-old is making steady progress in her tennis career. Zheng made her first big mark at the Grand Slams when she reached the final of the 2024 Australian Open.

Against all odds and to everyone’s surprise, Zheng made it to the final in Melbourne and set herself a clash against Aryna Sabalenka. With this, she achieved her best-ever show at a Grand Slam. Though she failed to get the better of the Belarusian, it went down as one of her best career results.

Pere Riba is Qinwen Zheng’s current coach. Former Spanish professional tennis player Pere Riba peaked at No. 65 in the singles rankings in May 2011.

Beginning in 2021, Zheng and Riba collaborated until parting ways following the 2023 French Open. After the split, Riba started working with Coco Gauff and even helped her bag her maiden Grand Slam title in 2023 at the US Open.

Following their split, Zheng hired Belgian coach Wim Fissette. However, Fissette then decided to work with his former charge, Naomi Osaka, putting an end to their collaboration. For the 2023 WTA Finals, Riba departed Gauff’s coaching team. However, Zhe­ng declared a few days later that she and Riba will collaborate yet again starting with the 2024 season.

Now, speaking of Wim Fissette, the Belgian might not have the best records as a player, but the 43-year-old has an impressive portfolio as a coach. He has coached the likes of Kim Clijsters, Petra Kvitova, Simona Halep, Victoria Azarenka, Angie Kerber, and, Naomi Osaka in his career.

The tennis coach from Belgium, Wim Fissette, has worked with several successful players. He helped Naomi Osaka win multiple Grand Slam titles, including the Australian Open and the US Open. With Fissette as her coach, Zheng seems to be in the right hands and it reflected in her performance at the 2023 US Open.

Fissette also coached Simona Halep, who achieved a career-high ranking of World No. 2 then, won two titles, and reached her first Grand Slam final at the French Open. Halep also made it to her first Wimbledon semifinal and qualified for the WTA Finals for the first time, where she beat former World No. 1 Serena Williams
