Rafael Nadal enters the NFT World, Joins Tom Brady’s NFT platform to release autograph collection

Newly crowned Australian Open champion Rafael Nadal has announced he will be joining Tom Brady’s NFT platform, Autograph. Rafael Nadal created history in Melbourne last week when he won his second Australian Open title, which also made him the player with most Grand Slam Men’s singles titles at 21. Now the Spaniard has said he wanted to thank fans for their support and for this purpose, he’ll release digital collectibles for his fans on Autograph, an NFT platform.
Nadal posted about this recent endeavor on his Twitter account “Thanks to the fans and to those that have supported me. Now I want to bring you all closer to my game and my world, in a way I’ve never done before. There’s more things to make with Autograph.”
The Spaniard becomes the latest player to enter the NFT world. Recently, Serena Williams joined Sorare, an NFT startup that releases digital collectibles of football players, as a board member. Whereas, Naomi Osaka already released her autograph card collection, which was sold as NFT’s.
Autograph is a start-up founded by NFL legend, Tom Brady, which features collections of many popular celebrities from sports, entertainment, and culture. The platform has recently gained traction and it already has sold digital collectibles featuring Tiger Woods, Naomi Osaka, Simone Biles, and Usain Bolt.
Sport NFT’s have risen in popularity in recent months, where digital representations of artwork, sports cards and released in forms of images or animation. Top players like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Neymar have already released their digital collections as NFT’s.

Australian Open has also entered the crypto market. Nearly 7000 NFT’s related to the Australian Open metaverse tournament were sold during the tournament, amounting to nearly 5 million USD.
Nadal’s winning shot was initially sold for 700 USD. But now the bid value has soared to nearly 9000 USD, more than 4000% above its floor price. Whereas Barty’s digital artwork, which features her title-winning shot, is currently being rebid at 3000 USD.
