“Djokovic is not the best, Rafael Nadal has won more titles” Toni Nadal gives his verdict on the GOAT debate

Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic
Rafael Nadal created history last month when he won his record-breaking 21st Grand Slam title at the Australian Open. After spending the better half of last year on the sidelines, Nadal’s comeback is nothing short of remarkable. With this win, he reopened the long-standing debate of who is the best out of the ‘Big Three.’
Toni Nadal weighed in his thoughts about the GOAT debate and offered a modest reply saying whoever won the most titles is the best player. He then went on to suggest that if his nephew, Nadal, wasn’t injured he would be the best player but commended Federer for what he has achieved over the years and said he is a notch above the duo.
“Who is the best? It is difficult to determine. The one who manages to play at the highest level punctually, the one who he achieves the most world records, the one who wins the most titles. If my nephew hadn’t been injured so much, he would have been the best on the circuit. There is very little difference between Nadal, Djokovic and Federer. I think Roger is the one who has done higher things,” he said interview on Radio 10’s Mañana Sylvestre program.
He claimed that Djokovic is not the best because Nadal has one more Major and further added that Serb won more titles because he competed in more tournaments than Nadal.“Djokovic is not the best today because my nephew has 21 titles, he has a higher average number of participations in Grand Slams and in tournaments than the others. Playing all the tournaments is not the same as playing half of them,” added Toni.
“It is a shame that a No.1 like Djokovic had to go out – but rules are rules” Toni Nadal’s blunt response on Novak Djokovic’s visa saga

Toni also expressed his thoughts on the debacle that went down at the Australian Open where Djokovic’s visa was cancelled and he was later deported. He said that it was an unfortunate situation but rules had already been set, Djokovic is not above the law and is bound to obey them.
“It was a shame that a number one like Djokovic had to go out in the press for this situation. It’s not pleasant, but I’ve already said it before: there are rules and they are to be followed whether you like them or not. Nobody likes to pay taxes, but it is the rule, you have to do it and there is no other choice,” said Toni further firing more shots at the Serbian.
