Milos Raonic vs Thiago Monteiro: Preview
Former World No.3, Milos Raonic hasn’t played any tournament on Clay yet. The Canadian will be playing on Clay for the first time this season in Paris. In the hard court season, he was in decent touch with Round of 16 outings at the Australian Open, Mexican Open and Miami Open. He didn’t play the French Open last year and his last match on Clay was at the Rome Masters last year.
His opponent, Thiago Monteiro has been in terrible form all season. In the 7 tournaments he has played on Clay, he has just managed to win one match in Belgrade last week. He lost in the first round of the Barcelona Open, Bavarian International and Geneva Open.
He couldn’t make past the qualifiers in Monte Carlo and Madrid and then finally defeated Radu Albot in Belgrade to register his first win of the Clay season.
Milos Raonic vs Thiago Monteiro: Head-to-Head
This will be the first meeting between the duo. The two players haven’t met on tour yet and hence their H2H stands deadlock at 0-0.
Milos Raonic vs Thiago Monteiro: Prediction
Although Raonic hasn’t played on Clay at all this season, he will still go in as the favorite to win the match. The Canadian is one of the biggest server on tour and hence will back that against the Brazilian. It will be very difficult for Monteiro to pick and return Raonic’s serve and if he manages to do that, he could really trouble the Canadian. Expect an exciting match, with Raonic serving his way out.
Prediction: Raonic to win in straight sets.
