REVEALED! Naomi Osaka’s potential path to claim her 2nd Indian Wells Title

Naomi Osaka

Former World No. 1 Naomi Osaka, who won the 2018 Indian Wells, is excited and looking forward to stepping on the court after two years. Today, the Japanese will face her first opponent getting on the road to win her second BNP Paribas Open title. This time, with the wildcard, Naomi does not plan to lose the opportunity.

The four-time grand slam champion will not have an easy path to the top, with multiple strong players standing in her way. Though she plans on winning the BNP Paribas Open, Naomi Osaka has not shown much stability in her game. The Japanese player had struggles with her mental health, forcing her to take a long break before coming back this season.

This led to her ranking plummet to the 80s. She has hoped to regain her former glory; however, she was unable to bear fruit. Will she be able to make the right turn in America? Let’s see.

The intense draw starts with the Round of 128, where the Japanese player will face Sloane Stephens, the 2022 Abierto De Guadalajara Champion. Naomi’s American Opponent has been on quite the roll this year, already having won a title. Stephens will carry the fire on from her previous win to the Indian Wells Masters.

If Naomi overcomes her first hurdle, she will face Veronika Kudermetova in the second round. The Russian had good stats this year, indicating that a match against her won’t be an easy one. Kudermetova has reached two singles finals, Summer Set and the Dubai tennis championship. She also won a doubles title and reached the finals in the Qatar Open.

Next up, if Naomi beat the Russian and entered the third round, the Japanese would encounter Jessica Pegula. The two have previously played against each other where Pegula emerged victoriously. She has displayed a really promising game this time winning a doubled title and reaching quarter-finals in her previous tournaments.

Anett Kontaveit will probably be Naomi’s opponent in the fourth round. The Estonian probably will be Naomi’s greatest wall in this tournament. Having won five titles and reaching two finals, Kontaveit is in amazing form and had an amazing chance at winning the upcoming matches.

Naomi Osaka’s chances beyond the quarterfinals.

Naomi Osaka’s potential opponents in the quarter-finals would be Jelena Ostapenko, Leylah Fernandez, or the defending champion Paula Badosa. All three players have so much in their armoury. All we know is that the quarterfinals is gonna be extremely intense with players giving their best aiming for the top.

If Osaka gets past her quarterfinals round, she will most probably face Maria Sakkari in the semifinals. Last year, Sakkari broke Naomi’s 23 win streak in the Miami Open.

The match that every fan is expecting and looking forward to is the finals between Naomi Osaka and Iga Swiatek, assuming they make it that far. Since her epic win in the Qatar Open, the polish player has been the crowd favourite to win the Indian Wells.
