Dominic Thiem has hit a rough patch on tour, of course by his own lofty standards, Since coming back on tour on the clay court, he has just one good result, at Madrid. In the Italian Open he lost in the round of sixteen to Lorenzo Sonego, and in the Lyon Open he was ousted in the first round. At the French open, expectations were not very high from the Austrian World No.4 but he shocked all by getting beaten in the first round to veteran Pablo Andújar in five sets 4-6 5-7 6-3 6-4 6-4.

Roger Federer has come out and expressed his support for his German speaking colleague Dominic Thiem. He believes that it’s just a temporary occurrence and everything will be alright when Thiem finds his energy back. Talking about Dominic Thiem, Federer said, “He is not the real Dominic now. But he is coming back. He only needs to find the energy again.”
